I came across this Eastern Coyote in Toronto's Tommy Thompson Park. I first spotted it on the trail-crossing perpendicular to the one I was on; It approached as I fired off some snaps, but I quickly realized I was blocking its path so I backed up as far as I could so it could carry on through. I was then rewarded with a close-up as it moved on to the another connecting trail. It was a serene yet exhilarating moment. Genetically, Eastern Coyote's are a mix between Western Coyote, Eastern Wolf, Gray Wolf, and in some cases, domesticated dog. Typically in Ontario this mix will favour Western Coyote the further away you get from Algonquin Park.
